Navy Girl- Rescued from Lancaster AC

I lost my German Shepherd, Charlie Girl, during COVID in 2020, and we missed her deeply. I had been casually browsing rescues but hadn’t committed yet.

One day, while picking up vitamins for our son’s senior dog, my wife dropped me off at a local pet store. Inside, Amora was hosting an adoption event. I spotted Promise and jokingly asked to borrow her. When my wife pulled up, she was stunned—Promise had already stolen our hearts.

Her story touched us: found tied to a tree in the desert with her sister, rescued by firefighters, and nursed back to health by Amora. Her sister was adopted, but Promise had been left behind. Amora named her “Promise,” vowing to find her a loving home.

We named her Navy Girl. She’s smart, athletic (part Belgian Malinois), and incredibly loyal. She’s made dog friends, loves our big family, and protects us fiercely. I’ve even lost over 20 pounds walking her daily!

We’re so grateful to Amora for bringing Navy into our lives. We’re doing our best to honor her promise—and we think Navy knows it.

Thank you, Amora!

Persephone- Rescued from Palmdale AC

We adopted Persephone almost 2 years ago. She has brought so much joy to the family. It has been fun to watch her blossom and her personality grow the more she became comfortable and secure. She offers unconditional love and gives the best hugs  animals take time to feel secure and settle into their environment, but once they do, they provide the most unconditional love and loyalty you could ever imagine!

Kenzie- Rescued from Lancaster AC

Kenzie was adopted in June of 2023. It had been about three years since we had a dog. We went to a local adoption event. We knew we didn’t want a dog that shed a lot, we wanted a male, and we wanted a dog that weighed less than 50 pounds. We saw Kenzie and even though she didn’t meet any of our requirements, we loved her sweet and calm demeanor. After taking her for a walk, we knew we had to add her to the family. She’s been an amazing addition to our family. She is such a love. We can’t imagine our lives without her.

Jack- Rescued from Lancaster AC

When Jack, our amazing Cattledog mix, first came to us as a foster in September 2023, he'd already been with the rescue for nine long months and had two adoption attempts that, heartbreakingly, didn't work out. After spending six months watching this incredible dog, and realizing how deeply he'd settled into our lives, we knew in our hearts he was meant to stay. The chances of another family seeing his true potential, felt slim.

Those first six months were a whirlwind of fun and discovery! We dove into everything from herding classes and group training at Zoom Room, to bike riding, hiking, and even swimming. Jack loved learning new things, and we loved watching him thrive. While our pace has naturally slowed down a bit since then, so has he. It's beautiful to see how his needs have evolved, and how perfectly he's adapted to our more relaxed lifestyle.

Jack truly is the perfect example of a high-energy dog who, with time and understanding, seamlessly integrated into a calmer household. We met him exactly where he was at the beginning, providing all the activity and engagement he needed. Then, gradually, we helped him settle into our rhythm. It took patience, consistent effort, and a lot of love, but that's what you do for family, right?

Our dogs give us their unwavering loyalty, 100% of the time. It's only fair that we give them the same in return. Jack is living proof that every dog deserves that chance at a forever home.

Megan- Rescued from Lancaster AC

Megan was a foster fail. I took her to a couple of events with no luck. We fell in love with her and decided to adopt her. She was a little scared and jumpy for about 6 months but eventually trusted us and got comfortable. She is loving but protective, very athletic but also a couch potato. Her favorite person is my husband and love to have her paw on him while she sleeps. She is super smart and good with our other dogs. She is the best and we love her.

Cameron- Rescued from Lancaster AC

We adopted Cameron in August 2024 from the Pet Supplies Plus Adoption Event.   One of the challenges that we have experienced is that people have a prejudice or fear towards the “Bully Breeds”.  It is very unfortunate that the media has labeled these breeds.   Cameron has completed his basic obedience training and walks well on a leash.  Cameron plays nicely with the neighborhood dogs.  Now when we are out on our daily walks some neighbors recognize Cameron and pet his head.   We are blessed to have Cameron as part of our family!
